Cowboys for Cancer

I was honored to work with the University of New Mexico Cancer Center in conjunction with Cowboys for Cancer. What a wonderful event. I always enjoy working on projects like these. You get to meet so many wonderful people that are all there for the same reason of giving. This was my first Rodeo. The trip was very rewarding and also educational…

Here are a few things that I learned:
– Shake hands with a Cowboy and you can walk away with a broken hand…
– Oh da fragrance…
– Flies, flies and more flies…
– Watch where you step… flip flops may not have been the best idea…
– It only cost $20 to have a Cowboy rope your assistant…

 

Behind the scenes- Larrimor’s fashion shoot

All shoots are a  collaborative effort but fashion projects seem to have more moving parts.  From picking the pefect model that can give you the most looks to choosing the right retoucher that can pull the whole project together and everything  in between.  I’ve been on shoots that on the day of the shoot when we open the Fed-Ex packages only to find out that they sent everything in a size six but the model is a size two.  4-words… Where is the seemstress!  You always have to be prepared.

Rowenta- The team approach

Three things to remember when shooting beauty.  1) The models don’t come in looking like this. ( Hire the best stylist that money can buy )  2)  Lighting is everything, then again… When don’t I say that.  3)  Details, pay attention to everything, sacrifice nothing.   It’s all about Team!

Elixer

Elixir is a clear, sweet-flavored liquid used for medicinal purposes, to be taken orally and intended to cure one’s ills.  Elixirs should be stored in a tightly closed and light resistant containers away from direct heat and sunlight. Elixir’s are the king of all liquid on this earth. Enough said…

Easy Street…

These are some fun composite images I shot for one of our studio’s lunch hang outs. (Easy Street Bar and Grill) They wanted some iconic Pittsburgh images with a twist and symbolism. Two rules- 1) Bring the tropics to our rivers… 2) Six Steeler Super Bowl victories… I had to find places on the river so I choose Heinz Field and the Duquesne Incline. The six palm trees represent our six Lombardi Trophies and the tropic images were from several different shoots that I had over the years in nice warm places. Now that’s what I call Easy Street!
